Great is The Lord's Praise

When trying to open this blog, I discovered that there are so many blogs related to this topic that it took a bit of time to locate the name of choice for this domain. Most people worship God the way they feel but I came to realize that not all praise is acceptable to Him. The psalmist says "Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised..." Ps 48: 1. This implies that since God is great, he only accepts praises offered in a great way and from grateful hearts. If you are a choir member, for instance, you may be praising God in church not because you want to but because you have to. You would have likely been on your seat had you not been in the choir stand that day. This is what I call compulsion praise. It is not from the heart and so is unacceptable to God. The true essence of acceptable praise is measured from the heart with corresponding action.

Just as you won't be comfortable taking stale food, God does only receive fresh praise. We can't get Him to us when we are operating with a stale anointing in praise. The need for daily freshness in our congregational and individual praise lifestyle is the purpose of this blog. Since God is not only great, but the Greatest, and as Papa Enoch Adeboye puts it, Greater than the greatest, we shall embark on classifying our praise songs to place them in the right order based on lyrics and intent. Please, note that all songs referring to, or talking about God in any form are songs of praise to Him because music is an instrument of worship. However, the classification will enable us differentiate which songs are core praise extolling, praise warfare, thanksgiving, faith/motivational, worship/ adoration/intimacy, consecration, salvation and dedication songs. Also note that the tempo of a song does not necessarily determine its classification as we can have low and mid tempo praise songs as well as high and mid tempo worship songs and so on. We expect your contribution to this blog to make it worthwhile. Songs copyrighted shall be duly acknowledged when known, possibly with a link to the authors' website if available. New songs shall also be shared in this blog by us (including you) because the Bible says we should sing unto the Lord new songs. Ideas and articles on how best to improve our congregational and individual praise lives are welcome. Are you a gospel artist, especially praise and worship artist? Your contribution to this blog shall be invaluable. Your itinerary shall be followed plus you can place link to your blog/website for follower-ship.

In the next few days and weeks, expect to see new things everyday you visit this blog to enable you offer to Him Great Praises that He only deserves for your supernatural lifetime experience in your walk with Him.

We need about 100 direct authors/publishers to this blog. To join the team, you must meet primary criteria of B.A. (Born Again), be spirit filled and belong to a local worship assembly. Then send email to the blog admin: praiseworshiptoday@gmail.com. You shall receive response within 24 hours
